Huawei-3Com Participates in NetWorld+Interop 2005 Tokyo

Tokyo, June 8, 2005 ¡V Huawei-3Com Co., Ltd., the leading enterprise networking provider, participated in NetWorld+Interop 2005 Tokyo from June 8 to July 10, 2005.

NetWorld+Interop Tokyo is the most important exhibition in Internet and information technology industry in Japan, the world's second largest IP networking market. The latest networking technologies and solutions were showcased by 300 participating companies and viewed by 160,000 visitors.

During the exhibition, Huawei-3Com announced the launch of its 10G next generation switching solutions to meet demand for speed in the coming years. The 10G solutions include Quidway S5600, the aggregation layer switch with IRF (Intelligent Resilient Framework) technology; Quidway S6500, the intelligent resilient routing switch; and Quidway S8500, the core routing switch for enterprise networks that are facing increasing demand for data and voice and video transfer over the IP network.

With the theme of "Better Choice, Closer Partnership", Huawei-3Com demonstrated the full range of its products from low-end to high-end routers and LAN switches, SecPath series security products, Quidway series VoIP products, as well as enterprise networking solutions for education, government, finance and healthcare. Innovative technologies such as IRF (intelligent resilience framework), MPLS VPN solution and triple play solution were also demonstrated.

"Our market position in Japan has been greatly strengthened through strong partnerships with Japanese companies. I believe the newly launched 10G solution can meet Japanese customer's network demand by offering non-blocking, secure, rich-in-service, high-bearing and expansible network. Shinsei Bank has recently successfully installed our flagship product S8500 core routing switch." Ms Chen continues.

Huawei-3Com's mission is to achieve worldwide enterprise networking market leadership by providing global customers with a full range of networking products and solutions and fast, responsive and customized product development to meet the exact requirements of its partners and customers.

Huawei-3Com achieved fast-paced growth in the year 2004 with staff numbers rapidly increasing to 2,800 from 1,100, this number is expected to grow to 3,500 by the end of 2005. A revenue growth rate of 80 percent is expected in the following two years. In 2004, Huawei-3Com secured a 33 percent share in China's enterprise networking market. Among its 400 million US dollars sales order revenue generated in 2004, 20 percent was generated from the international market including Japan. This percentage is expected to reach 35 percent in 2005.
