Challenge
As a listed company, PetroChina needs to satisfy its shareholders with increased revenues, to do so it relies on its data communications infrastructure to provide application efficiency and cost effectiveness. To maintain its foremost position among international crude oil players, PetroChina needs to have a network that is secure, capable of unified management, efficient and expansible to meet today's network demand and tomorrow's growth.

Our Solution For PetroChina
The technology in PetroChina's LAN datacenter had to be future-proofed to cost effectively support IPv6 and other future services. H3C designed and deployed an Internet backbone and IP LAN layer offering a secure, multi-service broadband connection. H3C's NE40-8 series high-end core routers were deployed in PetroChina's headquarters' LAN to provide high-speed connections between its local offices and the datacenter core network. The NE40 series Universal Switch Router (USR) can offer powerful IP services processing and three layers, low-cost Ethernet switching capabilities, providing more feature-rich services, flexible network construction and a superior performance price ratio.

H3C's AR4640 routers were deployed in other district offices of PetroChina. The AR46 series has a special dual main circuit structure with two independent PCI main circuits and PowerPC processors. With H3C's patented IP Turbo Engine™, it greatly boosts the system transmission power to cope with the tremendous application demand experienced in large enterprises like PetroChina.
