Huawei 2005 Global Contract Sales Hits USD8.2 Billion

Huawei., Ltd. ("Huawei"), one of the world's leading networking and telecommunications equipment suppliers, has announced that its global contract sales for 2005 reached USD8.2 billion, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 47%. The increase is a result of continued market growth in the product areas of wireless mobile network, next generation network ("NGN"), optical networks, data communications, application and software and terminals.

While gaining steady development in developing countries, Huawei also achieved substantial breakthrough in 2005. To date, Huawei has been serving 28 of the top 50 global carriers, including British Telecom ("BT"), Vodafone, Telefonica in Spain, KPN in the Netherlands, SingTel, AIS in Thailand, MTN in South Africa, Telemar in Brazil and other renowned carriers in addition to those in China. Besides, Huawei has its presence in 14 European and North American countries including Germany, France, Britain, Spain, Portugal, the United States, and Canada, etc.

In 2005, Huawei's international strategies were further consolidated, and began to establish an international image in the global telecom industry, gaining more and more international carriers' recognition.
